Spring is here at last! The birds are singing, the weather is warming, and both our Customer Experience and Development Teams have been hustling to provide our customers with a wealth of new updates and releases. You can find more information on the great new features our team rolled out to start the new year off right below, but if you have any questions about them or feedback for our team, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@timetopet.com. We’re always happy to help!

We also want to give a shoutout to everyone who said “hi” to us at the NAPPS Conference in Raleigh and the Texas Pet Sitters Conference in Austin – we had a blast getting to meet and chat with each and every one of you!

General Updates:

Available Balance Widget

instantpayoutbutton

In January, we released the Available Balance Widget, a new display on the Owner Admin Dashboard that will appear if you are the Owner Admin of your company, are connected to our integrated payment processor (Time To Pet Payments), and have funds available to be paid out from Stripe. When these conditions are met, the Available Balance Widget will show you how much money is ready for payout from your Stripe balance, giving you a quick, real-time view of your company’s cash flow.

In addition to letting you know exactly when funds are available, the Available Balance Widget can also help you decide whether to wait for a regular payout or initiate an Instant Payout right from the homepage of your Dashboard, and will put you in a better position to spot potential payout issues earlier (such as when Stripe holds certain payments or holidays cause delays). And you can see and manage it all right from the home screen of your Time To Pet account without having to dig through payment reports or log into your Stripe Express Dashboard.

And if you don’t want to see this balance on your Dashboard or utilize our Instant Payouts feature? That’s not a problem! Just navigate to the Settings > Invoicing & Payments > Credit Cards section of your account and uncheck the box that says Show Instant Payout Widget display on dashboard when balance is available on the right side of the screen.

Building A Dog Daycare & Boarding Business

TTP_Roundtable%202

Last month, we had the incredible pleasure of hosting Building A Dog Daycare & Boarding Business, a virtual roundtable led by four of Time To Pet’s very own customers, each who have built a successful and thriving pet care business that specializes in these services. Each panelist took the time to share their own stories and struggles in building their businesses from the ground up and shared important lessons, tips, and advice they’ve picked over the years to help anyone looking to launch or expand their own businesses into daycare or boarding.

Our panelists covered a wide range of topics, from detailing their transition from focusing primarily on in-home pet care to offering facility services; to talking through their own ways of handling staffing, operations, and pricing; and offering advice on how to get started and stand out from the rest of the competition. Whether you’re brand-new to pet care and looking to start your pet care journey or a seasoned veteran looking to grow and expand your business in new ways, this is the webinar for you! Also consider checking out our blogs on How To Start A Doggy Daycare and How To Start A Dog Boarding Business for other great tips and resources.

Didn't have the chance to attend? Not a problem! You can catch the recording in your own time by completing the form on our blog post about the event here to gain access. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting webinars to come and thank you again to our wonderful panelists for sharing your indispensable wisdom and experiences with us!

Pet Types

Earlier this month, we unveiled an exciting feature that has been frequently requested over the years and is something most of us wish had been available back when we were still managing and running businesses of our own: Pet Types! Previously, the Type field was a default Pet Field that clients could use to designate the type of pet they had by manually entering it into a text field. Some companies even used this field interchangeably with the Breed field, and while it provided vital information for staff to know when referencing a pet’s care instructions, it didn’t do much else, and depending on how your fields are configured, a client could become confused if you had dedicated questions for different pet types but they only had pets of one type.

Now, with our new and improved Pet Types field, you can define the types of pets your company services, which will determine the information your clients are asked to fill out when they complete their pet’s profile and choose their pet’s type from the dropdown list of options you configured in the Settings > Company Settings > Pet Fields section of your account. You can decide for each of your individual pet fields (with a few exceptions) if it applies to all pets universally or if only applies to specific pet types. This will help to ensure that clients aren't overwhelmed with questions for pets they don’t have and that all of the information displayed on a pet’s profile is relevant to their care, allowing staff to navigate their profiles more seamlessly.

If you’re an existing Time To Pet company, before you can get started with our new Pet Types tool, you’ll need to first migrate over your old pet types using the Bulk Pet Type Migration tool, which can be found in the Settings > Advanced > Bulk Pet Type Migration section of your account.

For more information on how to migrate your old types and set up the Pet Types field for your company, check out our help documentation here for a full breakdown: Pet Types: Setup & Migration Guide.

Vaccinations By Pet Type

With the release of our revamped Pet Types feature, we also rolled out another exciting update: Vaccinations By Pet Type! Just as you can now specify which pet types a Pet Field applies to, you can now do the same thing when adding new vaccinations to your company in the Settings > Client Settings > Vaccinations section of your Admin Dashboard. As seen in the image above, when creating a new Vaccination Type, you will be asked, “Who needs this?”

You can then choose to have the vaccine be required for All Pets or Only Specific Pet Types. The pet types listed under the Specific Pet Types option are pulled from the pet types that pet parents can select when filling out the Pet Type field in the Settings > Company Settings > Pet Fields section of your account. If a pet type is hidden, however, it won't be listed as a selectable option.

This allows you to more easily manage the pets that are required to have up-to-date vaccinations on record and requires far less manual management, as required vaccinations will no longer automatically apply to all pet types. Whether you only require vaccinations for pets using your boarding services or for every dog that comes under your care, this tool grants more flexibility when it comes to configuring your company’s vaccination types, allowing you to be more intentional with your time and company policies.

For more information on how to create and manage vaccinations for your company, see our help documentation here: Pet Vaccinations.

Facility Updates:

Managing Grooming Services

Another update we’re excited to share, this time with our Facility customers, is the ability to create and manage Pet Grooming Services! Previously, we have advised customers to schedule grooming services as Add-Ons or Daycare services (as they begin and end the same day) to view and manage them on the Scheduler, but we’re happy to announce that you can now create services designed to suit all of your pet grooming needs.

Grooming services can be scheduled as standalone services or as Add-Ons (if the service you selected has this option enabled) and will be visible as separate event cards from other Facility service types, whether you’re looking at them in the Staff Dashboard or in Front Desk Mode. That way, your team never misses an appointment and can always anticipate upcoming clients.

You can also easily schedule services for walk-in grooming appointments, with a simplified scheduling process that allows you to easily get clients on the books and keep things moving. For more information on how to create, manage, and view grooming services in Time To Pet Facility, please see our help article on Facility: Grooming Services.

Facility Help Articles Upgrade

Our content team has also been hard at work this month to expand on our existing Time To Pet Facility articles, bringing you more accurate and up-to-date information to reflect the updates and new features that have been added to the platform. Since beginning this project, we have made edits to dozens of articles and have created more than fifty new video tutorials for you to refer to when navigating our platform. If a video has been created for a help article, you can find it toward the top of the page. We have also compiled a playlist of these videos on YouTube for you to watch in one sitting that you can access here. For more information, consider checking out our Facility Knowledge Base!

Mobile App Updates:

Additional Admin App Actions: Charging A Client In The Mobile App

March has been a busy month for our developers, and our Mobile App team is happy to announce that Administrators (and Office Managers with the correct permissions) can now accept and charge payments straight from the Time To Pet Mobile App! No more navigating the mobile web browser version of Time To Pet or waiting until you’re back in front of your computer to collect your well-earned funds.

To charge a client from the Mobile App, just open up their profile from the Clients section of your app and, at the top of the Details tab, select the Invoice option at the top of the screen:

Screenshot_20260127-165400

From the Invoice section of their account, you can easily view their Open and Paid invoices, add Custom Line Items, adjust the pricing of their services, add tips and new payment methods, log payments accepted outside of Time To Pet, and process credit card payments if you’re connected to our integrated payment processor. Being able to charge your clients to manage their invoices on the go will allow you to make important changes in the moment and save on dedicated admin time, affording you more control of your time and finances.

To learn more about this incredible feature, please take a look at our help documentation here: Charging A Client In The Mobile App. For more information on managing your business from your Mobile App, see our Best Practices For Using Time To Pet In The Field guide to see what other features are available.
