What caused you to get into pet sitting/dog walking?
I have always loved animals! I grew up in rural North Carolina and animals have been a big part of my life. From horses to snakes, I have truly cared for them all! I was working a full-time job in optical when I needed a pet sitter myself, I ended up loving the service they provided so much that I asked for a job! I have LOVED everything about pet sitting ever since.
What is the most fulfilling part of owning a pet sitting/dog walking business?
Coastal Cat Care is cat exclusive, so I would say the opportunity to connect with so many people and bond over our love for cats! I love starting a round of visits where you can really see a cat opening up to you over the week(s) and treating you like their owner. I also love getting to relay all those sweet quirks to clients via Time To Pet and rendering a response that builds a long lasting relationship! I love providing a service where it's needed to those that truly care and love their animals!
What is the most challenging?
The most challenging part is definitely having to wear so many hats as a business owner! Marketing, Social-Media'ing, emails, putting out fires, accounting... all while still staying grounded in why you started the business to begin with! To take care of alllll these cats!
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
I see Coastal Cat Care continuing to expand into other cities and states where I see an open market! I want to grow and grow my business as efficiently as possible.
What has Time To Pet changed the most about how you run your business?
I am so lucky that I started with Time To Pet with my very first client. It has made my business organized, seamless and extremely easy to work with. I've been able to utilize many of the features more and more as Coastal Cat Care has grown. TTP has so many capabilities that I haven't even used yet, but knowing those options are available always has me thinking of new ways to make the business even better. I have been very diligent in pushing clients towards TTP because it really is the clients one stop shop... cat care is just a few taps away on their smartphone!
